Our Story

Lucas the founder of Kite Coffee has a passion for coffee…and kites!

Lucas worked in the family coffee business in Brazil for 10 years before moving to Ireland in 2008. Lucas set up his own coffee business here in Ireland in 2019 sourcing only the best coffee beans from all over the world.

As a young boy growing up Lucas built his own kites from plastic bags, bamboo and drinks cans, flying and competing with his friends through the streets of his hometown Espírito Santo do Pinhal, Brazil.

This passion then progressed to Paragliding in the mountains in Andradas and later to becoming a Kite Surfing instructor, spending the summer months working in “Kite & Surf”, Ibiraquera.

Lucas now builds and flies kites with his own children, instilling in them a love for the beauty and simplicity of flying a kite.

Kites, in whatever form, always represented a moment of freedom and escapism for Lucas. Lucas wants to bring his customers a “moment” through his amazing coffee, a moment to reset, a moment to escape, a moment to just…be.
